Work Experience
- November 2023 to present: Article 19 Eastern Africa – Digital Rights and Policy Program Officer
- Design and implement digital rights projects in the Eastern Africa Region.
- Oversee research, monitor and publish quarterly periodic reports on FOE online issues and generate a Digital Rights Monitoring Report.
- Lead the publication of policy briefs on digital rights and policy issues in the Eastern Africa Region.
- Lead programs on the existence and efficacy of corporate (telco and ISPs) FOE policies and practices and their adoption and implementation of international FOE standards.
- Oversee strategic litigation cases where Article 19 Eastern Africa has been joined as Interested Party or amicus curiae.
- Maintain and forge new partnerships with development partners, tech companies, civil society organisations, governments and relevant stakeholders in digital rights issues in the region.
- Conduct and participate in consultative meeting(s) with relevant stakeholders to disseminate policy documents, share identified gaps and generate meetings recommendations in the region and promote regulator and community networks discussions.
- Conduct and/or facilitate trainings and/or capacity-building initiatives and create an advocacy network for varied stakeholders, including civil society organizations, media, lawyers, judges, SMEs, and marginalised groups about FOE online, universal access and data protection.
- Facilitate meetings with regional bodies such as EACO, African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights, CSOs and consumer rights groups to encourage the uptake of FOE principles and standards in the harmonization of their policies and regulatory frameworks.

- Spearheaded the implementation of a GIZ funded projects on Data Protection and Privacy from a Gender Perspective and Research and Capacity Building Project on Online Gender Based Violence.
- Lead a GIZ/KICTANet/University of West Indies and P-didakt project on the development of content and production of an e-learning module 5 of the Digital Enquirer Kit on Online Gender Based Violence.
- Implementing a project under the Our Voices Our Futures Grant that seeks to include women and structurally marginalised groups in the internet governance discussions.
- Implementing a project on ICTs Accessibility and Equality for Persons with Disabilities.
- Implementing a DW Akademie Women@Web Project which included conducting a Digital Security Training for Women in Politics, organising a Masterclass on Gender and Data during the Privacy Symposium on 2nd November 2022 and hosting a podcast on the experiences of women in politics who vied during the 2022 elections.
